Does my character have to be a Pokemon?
➤ yes. absolutely. it's a requirement at this time. once plot develops further, there will be possibilities for other character types, but for now, pick a pokemon.

Can I have animal/pokemon feautres?
➤ normally, no. most characters only reflect their pokemon internally (though it's recommended the fc resembles the pokemon at least a little, you know?). elongated canines or claws are acceptable within reason, but that's where we draw the line. no ears or tails or fins or gills or anything else. the one exception to this rule is mega evolution: most megas will have a slightly varied appearance while in their mega form, and only while in their mega form.

What about shiny pokemon?
➤ no. shiny/alternate colored pokemon don't exist in this world. of course, your face claim is welcome to have different eye/hair color than their pokemon, but that doesn't make them "shiny" sorry. no special snowflakes here.

Does my character have to mega if the pokemon can mega?
➤ nope! if your character's spirit is gardevoir, they're welcome to stay regular gardevoir 100% of the time, if that's your choice. if you specifically want to develop their mega evolution powers in rp or you don't want them at all, you are welcome to that decision. but if you choose a pokemon with a mega, you can't make another pokemon with the ability to mega, even if your first character doesn't do the thing. you can only ever have one character who can mega at any given time.

Does my character have to be from Fernchester?
➤ currently, yes. we're going to be adding more elements and plots later on that will change this, however, right now we want everything to be pretty simple, so yes. your character's family will have lived in fernchester literally forever. once someone leaves fernchester, its impossible to find again, and the same goes for entering fernchester. you can't. it doesn't work that way. it's magic.

Can I kill my character off?
➤ if you really want to, you're welcome to. we just ask that you be sensible about it. don't get deep and dark because it can be triggering for others, you feel? otherwise, if you no longer want your character to be a part of the site, you can write them off as they left fernchester. that way there's no way for them to come back, and it's not poking at delicate/sensitive topics.

How do Pokemon moves work?
➤ the same way pokemon use moves. it just.. happens. if you need more clues, we suggest you watch the anime or play one of the main series games to get a clue. the only difference is instead of cute little creatures, it's literal humans.

But what about flying moves?
➤ yeah, so we got this question a lot back when we ran this site in the past, and the answer is literally just... use that imagination of yours. we'd like moves to be as open-ended as possible, and where flight is concerned, you can probably assume your character's pokemon spirit allows them to physically actually fly for a short period of time, especially when using a move like "fly". it doesn't have to make a ton of sense, honestly, as long as it's not completely ridiculous.



Why does my username have to be my pokemon?
➤ convenience, mostly. we're not going to force you to remake an account if you forget to register with your pokemon, but it makes things easier to tag. if your desired pokemon username is taken, someone is probably planning to make that pokemon.

What's the policy for hiatus?
➤ if you're an active person on the regular, we're not going to delete you for needing some space, or you're on vacation. alternatively, if you create an account with a pokemon username and you don't post a wip application within 3 days, we'll delete your account. if you fail to finish an application within 1 week, we'll delete your account. if you don't log in for 2 weeks, we'll delete your account. the least you could do is check in (we understand if it's impossible to do so, and we'll make an exception for this). we would like to keep as many usernames available as possible. we want everyone to have a equal opportunity to claim them popular pokes.

➤ don't be a dick, y'all. specifically around sensitive topics. be kind, be understanding. if you don't agree with someone, politely excuse yourself from conversation and don't make drama. we don't need any of that here.
