➤ Cassius had always known he was going to grow up and become a baker. It was no surprise to anyone in his family as the Holts were known to be fabulous chefs and culinary masters. Growing up in a house where cooking by scratch was a way of life, Cassius learned early how to prepare meals and execute difficult dishes with a modicum of ease. This was Cassius’ passion and through thick or thin he was going to become something great. But by the time Cassius’ Spirit revealed itself and he went on to University, something in his dream had changed. Cooking and seeing people’s enjoyment wasn’t enough. He wanted more than to cook and have people be amazed. He wanted a bit more showmanship to it, a bit more give and take. It wasn’t until the end of his Fourth Year when he became an aide to one of the Cooking Professors that he realized what he wanted to do. He wanted to teach.

➤ Cassius loves teaching and is one of the Professors anyone who loves to cook finds enjoyable to have on their roster. He’s still young and learning how to teach properly and is having trouble finding that groove in how to engage his students and not overwhelm them with dishes too difficult before they are ready. Its everything he wanted in a career but it is also way more difficult than he was prepared for. But he isn’t giving up. Cassius finds it helpful to have a few students here and there that will take him for every bit of his mistakes so long as he shows them the next greatest step in becoming a better baker. One day he will be everything he lives to be, until then he will work hard to make it happen.

➤ Cassius has another love other than baking and cooking and that is simply put as bees. After some debating in his youth, Cassius was allowed to take on a hive of bees. They already lived on the edge of town and had a luscious garden in which much of their food was grown, a hive of bees wasn’t a bad idea, especially considering how close they were to the farming district. Cassius has kept his hive and expanded it to two healthy hives. Despite the fact that he lives closer into town now, his apartment allowed him to take up residence with a community garden and his bees on the roof and it has flourished in this time. He takes good care of his bees, taking a lot of time to wind down in the evenings by caring for them. When it comes time to gather the honey, he asks for Kaede’s help in psychically calming the bees so he doesn’t have to use smoke. It’s only gotten better over time and Cassius uses the honey in much of his cooking and sells the excess during the spring and summer on weekends at the farmer’s market.

➤ Met his fiance, Kaede Morie, while in fifth year. Despite majoring in culinary arts, Cassius kept up quite a bit with the battling scene and even enjoyed competing. Usually this meant sparing with people in his age bracket but it changed when a young, wound up Espurr Spirit walked onto the battlefield one day. They fought hard and long, one of the longest battles Cassius had ever had. In the end he ended up the loser but was so smitten with this kitten that he asked him out on a date. A bottle of illegal wine later they were happy to get to know one another and enjoy each other’s space. It didn’t take long for Cassius to start showing his affection by cooking meals for Kaede and rooting for him at battles, anything that brought them closer together. They continued to be sparring partners right up until Cassius graduated.

➤ Cassius family is a large affair that has him smiling fondly at their mention. They are a family that still does much together, including cooking together and family outings around town. Cassius has remained closed to his siblings, including to his youngest sister Abigail who has shown her true colors as a spectacular battler and despite her waning interest in cooking they have always worked well together. He continues to baby her a little and is a tad over protective, doing things like making her lunches and checking in on her while she's at school but their personalities really shine when they get a moment to playfully spar and rile each other up.
