➤ oliver is quiet and unassuming most of the time. he's definitely not a people-person and tends to resort to sarcasm to get through most unwanted social interactions. empathy definitely isn't his strong suit, even when it comes to his own family. he's entirely independent and goal-oriented. he thinks everything through, and tries his best to stay ahead of the crowd. he might come across as arrogant at times, but that's absolutely not his intention.

➤ he's intelligent and rational most of the time, and while he does try to remain calm and collected, he does have his triggers. he's not very good at following orders, and often gets in trouble. and his temper can be as fragile as glass if provoked.

➤ oliver is the scary kind of person when he's angry. he's not loud by any means, but he's that quiet kind of angry where he won't yell, but his words are guaranteed to send shivers down your spine.

➤ when oliver was seven, he was the chosen target of several of his lager classmates. he was always small for his age, and stood no chance against a bully. his quiet and submissive demeanor, along with the ugly mark on his face, drew the other boys to him. it started out with throwing dirt, followed by taunting, then tossing larger objects like stones and soda cans. he hated every second, but chose to remain quiet, burying himself in books about imaginary worlds. had he been a girl, his teachers would have passed it off as a "simple crush". but he wasn't, and his teachers told him to "man up" instead.

➤ oliver grew out of being bullied in his teenage years. though, it was less that he grew out of it, and more that he just got sick of it. puberty made him rebellious and he had a knack for breaking school rules; he never started a fight, but he sure as hell ended them in the back parking lot. 

➤ the scar on the left side of his face is from his abusive father. his mother married the man shortly after she left school at twenty two. she had no idea what kind of man he was after he had a few beers in him. but six years and two kids later, she was done with him. especially after he got mad enough at the bar to come home and take a swing at their eldest son, leaving him with an angry red burn mark across his face. this incident has caused oliver to have a burning hatred towards all fire types (pun intended).

➤ oliver's mother remarried recently, and he's less than thrilled about having to get along with his new step-siblings. he also refuses to take his new step-father's last name, continuing to use his mother's maiden name, frost.
