a senior who's (only technically!) been held back twice. he's generally asleep, thinking about sleeping, or in a hyper-aware state at 4 am attempting to engage in a knife fight with god and possibly seether's computer cords. blunt, but fairly sensitive to other's emotions; he can be a good shoulder to cry on, as long as he thinks what you're upset about is worth being bothered by in the first place. he's pretty much an overgrown cat.

although he's a categorically awful student, he does enjoy meeting new people and getting to know them, finding the inner worlds of others much more interesting than what some dead dude did thousands of years ago. he's a bit hard to get to open up in return, but then again, he doesn't have much to say - he's a fairly relaxed dude, after all. those who get on his good side will gain a very warm napping buddy, and a good ear to spill to, but he'll probably try to distract you from actual work with baked goods and "field trips" during school hours.

you could pretty much football tackle him and he'd still be good with you, but he's pretty overwhelmingly protective of his friends, especially his roommate. if someone does manage to irritate him, he's more likely to give them the cold shoulder or a proverbial tongue lashing than go for a physical fight - he's not exactly great at those, and what offensive techniques he does know involve, like, biting people, and ew. he already doesn't like you, he doesn't really want a piece of your shoulder, yeah?

sounds like a lot of hard work for little to no payoff to him, really. no one's pointed out that he's basically doing everything but actually dating his roommate, but he's utterly oblivious to that whole thing, so he'd be more flustered than anything to garner someone's interest. still, he's open to the idea, as long as they're not expecting him to suddenly be good at, like, life in general.

seether wruck ∙ best friend and roommate; they're pretty much constantly together, even if seether's managed to continue actually doing schoolwork. somehow. maybe it's a shark thing. akio has a pretty hefty crush on the guy, even if he's too oblivious to call it that. you can tell when seether's around, because akio's purr goes from about a three to a fifteen.

ambrose mcnamara ∙ the third pea in the proverbial redheaded pod. even if they don't live together, akio has a habit of throwing rocks at his window at 4 in the morning until he gets let in, so it's basically the same thing. his photography inspired aki to do a little of his own, although all of his pictures are blurry and his camera's from a flea market.

oh no, it's mori. that's the general student response, anyway. a grade-A hardass with no patience for backtalk and a tongue sharp enough to make a senior cry, kaede's a mix of a hippie, an entirely too sober kickboxer and yoda. he asks too many questions, babbles too much about his obviously perfect fiance, and will fight you, your mother, and the sun. but hey, if you take his class you can punch him and be rewarded, so that's pretty great.

he... doesn't have many of those, really. the moris in general are fairly terrible with social interaction, and kaede learned early on how to pick apart every word, every stance, every shift of muscle, but absolutely nothing about how to be genial or "nice." it's a miracle he ever got himself together enough to date, much less teach. still, fellow professors have his respect from the get-go, and students who push themselves to the limit in his classes can earn a very proud mentor.

oh yeah, that's more his style. by now he's made plenty of enemies, from students he's flunked (and/or made cry) to their angry parents - and even other professors, given his habitual bluntness and sharp sarcastic responses. he can often dress down, insult, or otherwise hurt others without even realizing he's being impolite, and he's rarely apologetic, especially if he thinks he's right.

he's a gigantic marshmallow at his core, but he's also incredibly taken! the only person who gets to see that side of him is cassius. or the poor students unlucky enough to catch him in a good mood and have to suffer through an hour-long ramble about how great he is...

cassius holt ∙ fiance, best friend, love of his life, etc. if kaede's not teaching, he's probably with cass, which can be helpful if you're trying to find either of them to beg for a grade change.
